France: Internity Installs Microsoft Surface Tables in its Stores

30 October 2009 11 h 12 min

MicrosoftSurfaceInternityde French telephone and multimedia retailer Internity will deploy Microsoft® Surface tables in its stores. The first installations will be in five outlets located in Marseille, Narbonne, Toulouse, Evry and Lyon.

Partner company AFTER-MOUSE.COM has developed an application which enables customers to browse the store’s entire range of products, compare, choose different colours, access detailed product descriptions (with photos, 3D video and associated products) as well as to navigate the store’s web-site and plan future purchases with their loyalty card, before proceeding to check-out.

The detection of objects function offered by Surface opens up the list of products associated with a phone as soon as it is placed on the table. It can also navigate to the member’s zone when the loyalty card is used. Each of these elements uses a ‘tag’ to allow their detection.

Internity has 180 outlets in France.
