American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. has announced plans to open its flagship store in Times Square. It will feature digital signs both inside – a 13-foot video wall at the store entrance – and outside with 15,000 square feet of LED screens (25 stories high).

The LED screens will show content 18 hours per day, including a new a customer experience called “15 Seconds of Fame.” On completing a purchase, customers will be invited to pose in a mini photo studio. Moments after, the customer’s photo will be projected onto the screens, “for all of Times Square to see”.

Involved in the digital signage project are:

- The Barnycz Group, which conceived the design, integrated the technology, and which is overseeing the installation of the LED facade, as well as the store’s interior A/V systems.

- Barco, which provided the 12 panels that wrap the building’s exterior along with the LCD monitor wall at the store entrance.

- R/GA, which is creating content for the interior and exterior signage displays, and proprietary technology that powers “15 Seconds of Fame.”

- ABC Regional Sports & Entertainment Sales, a unit of ABC National Television Sales, which is the exclusive advertising sales representative for the sign.

Opening day of the store, located at 1551 Broadway, at 46^th Street, is scheduled for Thursday, November 19.
