The Netherlands: Supermarkt TV Boosts Sales of Grocery and Fresh Products
Research from Nielsen shows that POSTV’s Supermarkt TV network helped to significantly increase sales of Grocery and Fresh products in 2009.
Since the introduction of Supermarkt TV in March 2008, each advertiser on the network has access to a report, which tracks sales during the four weeks prior to the broadcast and the actual campaign period.
“Based on 2008 and 2009 campaigns, the Sweets and Snacks category deliver an index of 125 and fresh category stands out with an index of 112“ said Diana Niemer, product manager with Supermarkt TV (the index is made up on sales increase/decrease (negative) at shops equipped with SupermarketTV after comparing the period of campaign vs pre-campaign period).
POSTV Supermarkt TV reaches three million shoppers weekly with 200 connected stores and 1.200 screens. In 2009 many top brands advertised on the network, such as Knorr, Completa, Sheba, Alpro Soya, Slankie, Eru, Danone Actimel, Danone Activia, Coolbest, Campina, Ajax, Silan, Chocomel, Brand, Appelsientjes, Senseo and Duvel.
