AMX DEBUTS NEXT GENERATION CONTROL, MEDIAL MANAGEMENT AND DIGITAL SIGNAGE SOLUTIONS AT ISE 2010
New Advancements Make Short Work of Resource Management
AMX®, the leading provider of solutions that simplify the implementation, maintenance, and use of technology to create effective environments, showcased a range of new innovations for commercial, residential and governmental applications at the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE 2010) show last week in Amsterdam.
"Many of Europe’s largest, most prominent organizations rely on AMX technology for intuitive control and automation of their AV, IT and electronic assets," said AMX Chief Technology Officer Robert Noble. "With these product introductions AMX is extending our leadership in the integrated systems market and equipping customers of all levels of technical expertise with advanced, feature-rich platforms to elevate the effectiveness of their technology resources."
Among the new products showcased this year at the AMX booth was the Inspired XPress digital signage solution. Inspired XPress is an end-to-end solution tailored for organizations that desire to manage all aspects of their digital signage including content creation. Inspired XPress features a simple, intuitive software interface that allows staff to quickly create templates and content, and then publish content to SPX-1000 players, which are small enough to mount behind any display.
Also introduced was the innovative Novara 3000 Series ControlPads with built-in Ethernet port, ideal for streamlined control of conference rooms and classrooms. The smartly designed Novara 3000 Series ControlPads are cost-effective user interfaces that combine an easy-to-use 6-, 8- or 17-button keypad with an onboard device controller for managing a wide variety of A/V devices such as projectors, DVD players and switchers. The addition of the built-in Ethernet port adds to its many capabilities, such as giving users facility-wide, web-based remote diagnostics and A/V management through AMX’s award-winning Resource Management Suite (RMS).
As Europe is experiencing unprecedented growth in the digital television market, ISE served as a fitting location for AMX to unveil the AMX Television Distribution System (TDS). TDS is a line of Digital TV (DTV) products designed to transmit digital TV content over Ethernet using a multicast enabled LAN as opposed to a separate dedicated coaxial cable for an easy-to-implement digital TV solution.
The new DTV Gateway from AMX, also for those looking to take advantage of the many benefits of a digital TV solution, delivers TV content from the AMX Television Distribution System product line to the AMX Vision² system. TDS transmitters are paired with the DTV Gateway to convert digital TV signals to a format compatible with Vision² allowing the content to be made available for later playback on demand. Each DTV Gateway supports up to six transport streams, which can each contain one or multiple channels. It’s ideal for schools and universities that desire to broadcast to displays and PCs across the campus.
As facilities and homes continue to experience a rapid proliferation in technologies, the need to manage these intuitively, and to maximum efficiency, becomes essential. With these latest innovations, AMX extends its position as a provider of solutions that fulfills the mission of creating more effective environments for organizations and home owners.
