USA: IndoorDirect and Clear Channel Outdoor to Run Foursquare Application
IndoorDirect and Clear Channel Outdoor are among the first media owners to commit to the LocaModa-designed DOOH version of the Foursquare application. This announcement follows the launch by LocaModa of a DOOH App Store this week.
Indoor Direct will run the service on more than 1,000 quick service restaurant locations including Wendy’s and Carl’s Jr., while Clear Channel Outdoor’s Spectacolor unit is to launch the application on its 126-foot LED video screen at the entrance to Las Vegas’ Miracle Mile Shops.
Foursquare is a popular location-based social network, where users can “check-in” to their favourite locations and announce their whereabouts to their network of friends. Users earn points and badges for checking-in and vie to become the “Mayor” of popular venues.
