France: France-England Rugby Match to be Shown in 3D in 30 Cinemas

francetelevisions_logo On Saturday March 20, French state broadcaster France Télévisions and CielEcran will broadcast the match between France and England, part of the 6 Nations Rugby Tournament, live in 3D in 30 cinemas across France.

This will be the first event of its kind in the country.

France Télévisions will put a special unit in place to produce the 3D signal in addition to the outside broadcast unit already being used to show the match in 2D on the France 2 TV channel.

The broadcasting of the game in the various cinemas will be undertaken by CielEcran, in partnership with Eutelsat which will transmit the signal.

Spectators will be supplied with special spectacles for the occasion.
