Slovenia now has a particularly interesting eco-system of digital signage companies. Among these are Infinitus (Note: an Ooh-tv advertiser) whose potential has just been recognised by Scala, Prumaro d.o.o. with their installation in the Ljubljana public transport system and also Qootia, which has developed a technology allowing interactivity between a mobile phone and the content of a digital signage screen.

This latter solution has just been used recently as part of a large marketing campaign by Telekom Slovenije, one of the country’s principle telecoms operators. Virtual snowball fights were organised in two public squares dominated by large screens (one in the famous skiing resort of Kranjska Gora, the other in Ljubljana).

To participate, individuals had simply to call a free number. Throwing and dodging snowballs was controlled by the telephone keypad.
