Clear Channel Outdoor Impacted by Poor Domestic and International Revenues

clear_channel_outdoor_logoClear Channel Outdoor Holdings, Inc. has published its results for the year ended December 31, 2009.

The company reported revenues of $2.7 billion, a decrease of 18% compared to revenues of $3.3 billion in 2008, and a net loss of $872.5 million (vs. $2.9 billion the previous year). OIBDAN was $535.4 million for 2009, a 28% decrease from 2008.

CCO’s American revenue decreased approximately $192.1 million, primarily due to declines in bulletin, poster and transit.

International revenue decreased approximately $399.2 million, of which $118.5 million was due to movements in foreign exchange rates. The revenue decline occurred across most countries, with the most significant decline being $75.5 million in France due to weak advertising demand. Other countries with significant declines included the U.K. and Italy, which decreased $30.4 million and $28.3 million respectively.
