Brazil: Elemidia Aims at 8,500 Screens By End of Year

14 April 2010 10 h 21 min1 Comment

elemidiaLogoElemidia, Brazil’s biggest ad-based digital signage operator, intends to almost double its coverage in the coming months. By the end of 2010, it is aiming at having 8,500 screens compared to its current base of 4,750.

This expansion will be helped by the recent acquisition of the Cine Boteco network (now known as Elemidia Bares), which will extend beyond its traditional bases – Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo – to cover all of the 24 cities where the company already has a presence.

Elemidia also intends to widen its geographical reach into medium-size towns which are “economically interesting”, and in the North Region.

As well, it wants to grow beyond the sectors in which it currently operates (buildings, shopping centres, bars & restaurants, fitness centres, hotels and convenience stores); discussions with a supermarket chain is apparently well under way.
