Deutsche Telekom will invest several tens of millions of Euros in expanding its digital signage activities this year. In an interview with media magazine Horizont, reported by Invidis, Reinhard Hanses, in charge of the telecoms operators OOH activities, outlined the broad strokes of their plan.
Already present at Stuttgart, Düsseldorf and Berlin (Tegel and Schönefeld) airports, the AirportNet network will soon be extended to include five other cities (Hamburg, Bremen, Hanover, Nuremberg plus one other not yet revealed).
The shopping centre network will also grow – 15 new sites will be added this year to the existing 25 centres run by Metro Asset Management.
The operator will also deploy a network of over 1,000 screens in Lotto (National Lottery) outlets in the south-west of the country, and has recently announced the installation of over 2,600 screens in REWE supermarkets.
In total, Deutsche Telekom plans to be operating over 10,000 advertising screens by the end of this year.
