OVAB Europe Index: France, Benelux and Germany Show the Largest Growths

The business climate in the European Digital Signage industry has dropped slightly (48 to 44) compared to the beginning of the year. Most notably, it saw a very heterogeneous development among the different countries surveyed.
The DBCI (Digital Business Climate Index) country indices for France, Benelux and the German-speaking markets have seen a positive growth within the last three months. France accounted for the biggest increase with 22 index points, followed by Benelux (+9) and the Germany, Austria and Switzerland region (+2).

A significant two-digit drop has been recorded in the UK, Italy, Spain and the Scandinavian regions.
The current digital signage business climate in Italy and Spain/Portugal has declined dramatically due to the debt crisis in selected Mediterranean markets. However, the outlook for the next months remains positive.
The negative turn in UK follows a spectacular increase up to the beginning of 2010, which has not continued as hoped. But the UK Digital Signage industry has nevertheless high expectations for the upcoming six months. The Scandinavian market is the only region surveyed in Europe where both the current and the outlook indices have dropped in Q1/2010.
