USA: Digital Signage Federation Creates a Standards Committee

DSFlogoDigital Signage Federation (DSF) has created a new Standards Committee, which will be chaired by Ken Goldberg, CEO, Real Digital Media.

The new committee will set standards for key issues such as:

- Measurement

- Integration and Messaging

- Reporting

- Semantics

- Privacy

Rich Cooley, Chairman of the DSF also announced the appointment of industry professionals who will Chair the other five committees announced previously :

- Jack Sullivan, Senior Vice President, Out-of-Home Media Director, StarCom World Wide will Chair the Advocacy/Outreach Committee, established to identify programs and activities that have an external focus to improve the visibility, understanding and appreciation of the digital signage industry and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors for position statements.

- Robert Stowe, Director, Marketing Services, Wendy’s International will Chair the Budget/Finance Committee to assist the Board of Directors with the DSF financial policies and strategy, including review of the annual operation budget.

- Alan Brawn, Principal, Brawn Consulting will Chair the Education Committee dedicated to creating and disseminating an educational program that will result in member companies operating more professionally, productively, profitably and responsibly.

- Carre Dawson, Director, Business Development, Digital Signage, Harris Corporation Broadcast Communications will chair the Legislative/ Government Affairs Committee to develop programs to support the advancement of digital signage rights and improve legislation, regulations, codes and standards that affect the sale and use of digital signage and interactive technologies.

- Jennifer Bolt, Executive Director, Media Services & Innovation, Tracy Locke Advertising will Chair the Membership Committee providing guidance on efforts to recruit and retain members to the organization, and recommends programs, services and benefits to promote the overall interests of the digital signage industry.

DSF now has over 300 members in 33 countries.
