Israël: YCD Multimedia and Retalix Roll Out Digital Media for the Country’s Largest Retailer

YCD Multimedia and its partner Retalix, a provider of point-of-sale technologies for the retail industry, have implemented an integrated digital media solution in ‘Shufersal Big’ and ‘Shufersal Sheli’ stores across Israël (Shufersal is the country’s largest retailer with over 240 locations nationwide).

Over 500 17 inch customer facing displays have been installed at each checkout counter. The screens are split in half, the left part displaying the customer’s order confirmation information and the right part showing promotional and branding content (such as last minute purchase options as well as the Shufersal branded loyalty card and cash withdrawal services).

The integration of YCD’s platform with the Retailix point of sale system also allowed Shufersal to implement its “Shufermania” campaign: “During the summer of 2010 Shufersal offered the contents of their shopping basket free of charge to each 100th loyalty customer in all the ‘Shufersal Big’ locations. To create excitement and awareness each time a customer won, the news was simultaneously announced on over 500 point of sale displays and dozens of large LED displays, as well as an audio announcement over the stores audio system in each of the store locations indicating the winning store location, checkout counter and value of the customer’s prize.”
