Digital Signage full service provider Mermaid A/S acquired all shares in HEADLINE.TV AS (Norway) and all the activities of HEADLINE.TV Aps (Danmark) on the 1st of January 2011. The deal was valued at € 560K (DKK 4.7 million). The entire amount will be converted to Mermaid shares.

The merger consolidates Mermaid’s position as the leading DS supplier in Scandinavia and expands the company’s reach outside the region through HEADLINE.TV’s partner agreements in Switzerland, Germany and Austria.

This is the fourth external growth operation in the Scandinavian market from Mermaid over the past years, with previous acquisitions of Victor Soft A/S (January 2007), Acrossmedia (January 2008) and Media Solutions (January 2009). Mermaid has further plans to consolidate the market and so has entered into cooperation with an external partner to look for other acquisition opportunities.

The company also intends to extend its partner networks in Europe. Olivier Plas, former Managing Director of HEADLINE.TV will be responsible for Mermaid’s expansion in the countries outside of Scandinavia.
