lamar logo-shinyLamar has announced its Q1 operating results. The Baton Rouge-based company has reported net revenues of $255.2 million for the period, versus $244.1 million for the first quarter of 2010 – a 4.5% increase. Operating income was $25.6 million compared to $10.8 million for the same period last year. The first quarter of 2011 saw a net loss of $13.2 million compared to a net loss of $24.8 million for the first quarter of 2010.

On the digital front, Lamar now (as of May) has 1,244 digital billboards, which breaks down into 642 digital bulletins and 602 digital posters. This compares to 1,208 screens as of last February. Despite this relatively low installations number – due to difficult climatic conditions (notably April Storms), Lamar has confirmed its goal to install a total of 300 LED billboards this year.
