The Netherlands: Scala Runs KPN’s 500 Screen Digital Signage Network
Scala has just released a case study for a deployment carried out in the Netherlands in… 2008.
Back at that time, as part of the revamping of its stores, telecom operator KPN turned to its affiliate QYN to design and integrate a digital signage network. Around 500 screens, powered by a Scala solution, have been deployed in 105 sites.
“The most noticeable digital element within the stores is a portrait-oriented screen in the window facing the street to attract prospective buyers. Inside each store there are three interactive point-of-sale desks. At each desk, two different categories of mobile phones are displayed, ranging from “mobile office” to “youth” phones. Interactive touch-screens are embedded in the desks for each of the six categories, providing the most important information for each phone.
Two interactive kiosks also allow customers to browse other products, such as televisions and Internet services. To complete the network, there are three more screens placed at the back of each store displaying relaxing images, commercials and short product promotions.”
Of course, most of our readers might already know this deployment, since we covered it on Ooh-tv.fr, back in November 2008.
