France: Mirane’s Acquisition by the Madic Group – A Game-Changer for the French Digital Media Industry ?

7 December 2011 11 h 13 min

MiranelogoOoh-tv.fr interviewed Mirane’s President, Cyril Michel, and asked him about the company’s recent takeover by the Madic Group (€120 M t/o and 900 staff) as well as plans for the new partnership.

“Our shareholder is ambitious and will be investing €30 M to develop our business, and the market as a whole.” Some external acquisitions are planned.

Mirane becomes Madic’s Media Department, and will operate along side of and in synergy with other departments in the group – Services (Madic / Laurin) and Industry (Lafon, Petrol).

“It’s likely that we’ll be able to bring a layer of additional services to Madic and Laurin’s existing customers. Anywhere there’s an electricity or IT network, a digital media network can also be installed.

With Lafon, we’ll be looking to deploy screens at petrol stations. This is a big project, which will require a lot of work by both companies.

We will also benefit from the group’s 12 local agencies in France, as well as its international profile (Spain, Germany, Asia – in addition to Mirane’s activity in Mexico) to strengthen our representation in France and to develop our international business.”

Finally, Mirane intends not only to consolidate and re-invest in its existing services (software, installation, communication) but also to extend its scope by developing an ad-sales agency.
