Banco Bisa and Unicef seek “childhood heroes” with the “Take my hand” campaign

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and Banco BISA reaffirmed their alliance in favor of children with a campaign that aims to raise financial resources to meet the most urgent needs of the first two years of life of thousands of boys and girls from Bolivia.

“In July 2019, we came together to look for childhood heroes who contribute to programs to support the physical, emotional and mental development of infants during their first 1,000 days of life,” recalled Franco Urquidi, Vice President of Business at Banco Bisa.

“We transform the lives of thousands of children! And we also did it in a situation as difficult as the pandemic was, ”said the executive. “Now, we have to say ‘Take my hand’, because we are going to continue with this program that is related to the values of our bank,” he stressed.

This initiative consists of inviting Banco Bisa clients -through its call center- to become childhood heroes, who with a monthly contribution can help change the lives of thousands of girls and boys throughout the country.

According to the representative of Unicef, Rafael Ramirez, during the first two years of this alliance, the commitment of more than 1,200 monthly donors was achieved, which to date contributed more than 135,000 dollars, which were allocated to various programs in favor of the development of girls and boys during their first thousand days of life.

“All the funds raised are used in actions for the Comprehensive development of early childhood, the prevention of violence and education,” said the representative of Unicef.

Thanks to the support of all individual donors and institutional allies, UNICEF delivered more than 126 tons of biosafety supplies destined mainly to hospitals and health centers, 1,400 vaccine transport boxes delivered to the Ministry of Health that this State office distributed among the 327 municipalities in Bolivia, while 40,000 people received psycho-emotional support through the free Safe Family line for the prevention of violence in the context of the pandemic.

With the new “Take my hand” campaign, Banco Bisa and Unicef continue their search for more Childhood Heroes -solidarity and committed people- so that more girls and boys grow up with love, health and protection.
