After the official launch of the first television channel dedicated 100% to education, Tigo signed an agreement with the Bolivian Space Agency (ABE), so that, through the satellite television signal, this benefit is extended to Bolivians living in rural zones.

The agreement will allow the agency to share Educatigo’s content, through the educational channel that it manages within the free grid that broadcasts on the Tupac Katari satellite and that can be tuned through satellite kits (satellite dish and accessories) at any point in the world. country. This benefit will have an initial duration of one year and will begin with the emission of eight hours of content per day, and then progressively increase.

“Educatigo is a project that was born to support and complement formal education in Bolivia. We want Educatigo to reach more areas, both urban and rural, and the agreement with ABE will allow this to be possible, ”said Carlos Echazú, head of Corporate Responsibility at Tigo Bolivia.

Educatigo’s programming is focused on encouraging the development of different digital and soft skills, making responsible use of the internet and cybersecurity advice. The contents can be used by children and adults and are on the air 24 hours a day on channels 90 and 719 of the cable TV service provided by Tigo Hogar.

The proposal to extend this benefit to more people in the rural area was born under the idea of ”learning together” to positively impact the communities, with a program that contributes to all areas of development of the people and that accompanies them in the domain of the digital tools.

“To achieve this benefit, people only have to connect their television to the Túpac Katari satellite, through a commercially available satellite kit, so they can enjoy free digital signals with high image and sound quality, in every square meter of the country; several channels with educational content are available ”, indicated Jhonny Iván Zambrana, Executive Director General of the Bolivian Space Agency (ABE).
